Graduate from Kalamazoo public schools. Get a free college education.
It was a bold initiative announced to international acclaim. The Kalamazoo Promise, sponsored by
anonymous benefactors, does more than just talk about the value of education. It actually provides it.
Under the Promise, students who graduate from the Kalamazoo Public Schools can have their tuition paid when they attend any Michigan college or university. Imagine being able to tell employees that they can live in an area that will allow them to stop worrying about finding a way to pay for the college education of their children.
An academic community.
There are seven Colleges and Universities that contribute to Kalamazoo's thriving community. Western Michigan University, the third-largest in the state is listed among U.S. News and World Report's top 100 public universities in the nation, along with nationally recognized Kalamazoo College and the growing Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
